Blanes is the start of the
Costa Brava in the South.
This town has a heavy fishing industry.
There is a long stretch of sandy beach and boat trips
can be arranged up and down the coast.
In Blanes, the magnificent botanical gardens covering 5 hectares and the
remains of a tenth century castle
and the fourteenth century
church are all points of interest.
Blanes is a town inhabited by locals and although tourism
is important, it is somewhere that is alive all year round.
The train station is situated a little inland making easy access to Barcelona.
