L'Estartit

L'Estartit forms part of Torroella de Montgrí, the Mountain of Montgri divides the Alt and Baix Empordà on top of the mountain range the Castle of Montgrí.

L'Estartit itself is a tourist resort and one of the attractions are the Marine Reserve of Les Medes. These are a protected nature reserve, with a important colony of herring gulls and a fabulous underwater life. Divers from all over visit the islands on a regular basis although there are now restrictions on the access to the area.
