Sant Feliu de Guíxols, a very attractive major town
on the beach itself with a
small selection of family run hotels. The seafront
has a very pleasant promenade lined with pavement
cafes leading to the harbour at the Northern end.
Sant Feliu has some wonderful buildings thanks to the
properity of the nineteenth century cork industry.
The town grew around the monastery whose ruins still
stand.
The history museum and the squat round tower
and tenth century arched gateway La Porta Ferrada sit
back from the square.
This is a popular tourist resort for locals and has
now joined up to the equally popular beach resort of
S'Agaró with it's top class hotel, over looking the
sea and wonderful coastal walks.
